Cabinet door turned Bulletin Board in Primer Red

I am finished painting all the cabinet doors that I found for a steal and decided to re-purpose.  I am officially on the look out for more cheap cabinet doors! I almost forgot to post these shots (I took them in the evening when the light wasn't great...I don't have time to retake them so pretend the photography is lovely!) of a cute bulletin board I did in Annie Sloan's Primer Red.

Because you just can't make a mistake...

That would be one reason why I love distressing...If you don't like how it came out just paint over it and do something else. For example...

I messed up my first idea so I did this instead:

Cabinet doors +Duck Egg Blue= Bulletin Board Part 1

I am so glad I found these awesome cabinet doors to re-purpose! I loved the way the chalk boards came out, so I thought I would try bulletin boards.  I love Duck Egg Blue by Annie Sloan over the light colored wood...

Before and After: The Baby Harmon's Cocoa Table

First they are the baby Harmon's because they have a baby: (check out the picture on the mantel.  It is the picture I made them)

and there are so many of us Harmon's we have to be to know who we are referencing. :)  Second, when Jake was little he asked why we called our coffee table...well a coffee table.  We don't drink coffee, so at the tender age of 3 he decided it should be the cocoa table and it has been ever since!

Jake and I went and hung out with Erin and Jaxson the other day.  When we go there, their cocoa table looked like this:

More chalk board love...

As promised here are more of my beloved cabinet doors turned chalk boards...

This one isn't done yet.  It needs a cute knob...but I guess you could say I already said that...

Mirror, mirror, on the wall...

Okay, so I am not going to lie to you...I love to think of myself as a photographer, but mirrors are hard to take a picture of people!  Again I forgot to take the before.  If I had I probably would have run out of time to even paint it!  I am hoping you will get the picture on just how beautiful this mirror came out...

This is with one coat of duck egg blue on it.  It is a very light...robin's egg blue almost.  I am in LOVE with this color...That is Sadie our black lab mutt with creepy eyes in the reflection.  Her creepy eyes are much better than me in my painting clothes-trust me!

Chalkboard love..

When life gets stressful I destress by distressing! I love it. The painting, the buffing...notice I didn't say sanding? I am loving Annie Sloan Paint for that reason-no sanding required.
I am old school. I prefer chalkboards to dry erase boards....And I am in LOVE with chalkboard paint.  I re-purposed cabinet doors into these fun chalkboards.

I love gray...

This is one of my favorite pieces...You will probably hear me say that a lot.  I love grey.  I love it over a dark stain.  I love this piece that I found at a yard sale.  Jake questioned the buy.  He thought it was ugly...and it was before (I forgot to take a picture of it but trust me-it was ugly.)

Here is the after:

More Duck Egg Blue...

I was going to keep this one too but my husband put his foot down. :)

The before...Not to bad, but BORING...

 After....

I bet you wish you didn't give this one away...

My mom and dad just downsized to a precious little townhouse/cottage and they got rid of some of their stuff. I took some of their. This is one I think they are going to wish they kept.

The before...A cute little chest.  It is missing the handles on the side but I am pretty sure I can figure something out...

This piece isn't going any where!

This is one I will not be parting with...I found it at Goodwill for $4.99.  It was ugly.  I had my doubts but I thought I could see something in it...
One coat in and it is already looking better....
And and up close...

A gift for the new parents...

Aaron's youngest brother and his wife had a baby boy just over 3 months ago.  I love my not fancy but fabulous camera and I love taking pictures...and I love my brand new nephew, so we had a photo shot....Which of course lead to a photo gift.

 This is Jaxson...adorable I know!

Here are some more of the photos I took in black and white....
